Driver's license--the saga
2/6/06 13:41Yesterday, we go out to Carrboro, because I know the area better and have been told that they're friendlier. I have to hand over proof of my insurance--unfortunately, the 'proof of insurance' letter says that the insurance expired last week, and even though we have a new insurance card, it's not good enough because my name's not on it. So, we call the insurance agency and they fax over a new 'proof of insurance' letter.
I go out to the parking lot to take my road test. The inspector looks at the car-inspection sticker, says "Hmm," and goes back inside. Turns out, the car-inspection sticker is stamped for Sept. 2007, which means that the car was most recently inspected in Sept. 2006, which isn't possible, short of a TARDIS. The car inspection place made a mistake, but--the car still needs to be re-inspected. (They gave us 2 free oil changes for the trouble, though. So that's good).
Okay. So, the car gets inspected on Thursday, we go over to Carrboro again only to find that my learner's permit is in my other pair of pants.
...Yeah.
And, another round-trip later, I have my license.
Oy.
