Some days, you get home at 6:30 and have nothing in the house but rice.

And then you scorch the rice to a blackened crisp.

What I like best about writing is that moment when you figure out that you were trying to shove the story in a direction it didn't want to go, and you figure out where the story does want to go.

It will require rewriting, which is fine with me.

I do wonder if the story can survive under the weight of all these romantic entanglements, but if not, I can just kill some people.
