owlectomyI am SO GLAD that I have the right combination of Japanese skills and research skills to figure out whether it would be anachronistic for restaurants in the world of my novel to have displays of plastic food samples (it's a fantasy version of Taishou Japan, so, 1920s-ish). It turns out, not anachronistic! But made of wax, not plastic.
It's hard writing novels set in history. And fantasy history. And, well, the present day. (Did not realize until after it was too late to correct that Cass couldn't have had a new steel-frame Bianchi, as they had stopped making them.)
