My dad is not. His flight got canceled because of bad weather, and I imagine it'll be rescheduled with a less convenient transfer between LaGuardia and JFK.
We have already eaten very well once (The Farm on Adderly: fava bean crostini, tomato salad with perfect tomatoes, chickpea fritters, gin-and-tonics with elderflower liqueur and tea-infused gin) and may well do so again before the weekend is out.
My mom wanted to tell me about this intriguing British science fiction show she heard about on NPR. It turned out to be Torchwood. (Good thing, because she didn't remember what it was called). Alas! Torchwood does seem like the kind of thing I ought to like, and yet, really really not. (Yes, I've only seen the first season; yes, I've heard that later seasons are much better; yes, I probably will watch them eventually.) Ah, moms.
