Three things make a post
22/4/11 22:09-Somebody came to replaster my wall. This meant I needed to move an entire bookcase away from the wall, which means my floor is now completely covered in books. (No jokes about how this is a normal state for me.) Can't put my bookcase back until the painting is done, which will be Monday... I hope.
-I finished Otome Youkai Zakuro! I was, uh, not 100% sure what all happened in the end, being that I watching in raw Japanese, but it was touching all the same and exciting, and strange. (It was easier to watch it in raw Japanese than to figure out how to get my computer to play .mkv files. I will figure it out at some point). It's interesting that both Zakuro and Taishou Yakyuu Musume are published as seinen manga, but neither one (having not read the Zakuro manga, admittedly) have the kind of male-gazeyness that I expect when I hear about a seinen manga about teenage girls. It may be a completely unfounded prejudice on my part! I will own up to that much.
-I made lentils from a recipe in Veganomicon, and I FINALLY managed to cook lentils in a way I really like! The secret ingredient is three tablespoons of chili powder, an amount that initially made me say, "Wait wait, are you SURE about this?" I am not good at spices!

25/4/11 01:12 (UTC)I tend to watch raws by preference because it's less distracting than a bad translation, but suddenly it's the end of the series and there are Things Getting Explanations...

23/4/11 09:41 (UTC)But eeeeee I love Zakuro. I kind of stalled out on a rewatch a couple months ago but I should get back on that. Also I am sad that there is no fic about the twins & Ganryuu, but I suppose since there is really no apparent fandom I shouldn't be surprised!
Lentils are my favorite legume!! I prefer the red ones but I love all of them. Heh.

25/4/11 01:16 (UTC)I eat heat-in-the-bag lentils for lunch all the time, but they've got the sauce and spices already, and it's been surprisingly hard to figure out the right amount of spices and things. Because I am scared of spices, apparently!
