XKCD's color survey results are actually pretty fascinating, particularly the gender survey which neatly takes apart the stereotype that women use color words like "mourning dove" and men use color words like "gray."

(I took the survey; it's a survey that shows you a bunch of colors and asks you to provide names for them.)

I am moved in. I kept thinking of new Terrible Things that could happen (the moving truck had to park illegally or not at all; I didn't know I couldn't pay with a personal check, and when I tried to get cash at the ATM it rejected me for "suspicious activity") but they all worked out in the end.

I think it's genuinely useful to have makeup in a ton of shades -- sometimes a very subtle difference can make the difference between "that does NOT look like me" and "Hey, that's cute," and it's very dependent on the person's skin tone too.

I hired professionals to do the move, since I've got a couple of pieces of furniture that I can't manage by myself, so don't be too impressed!
