If the medical lab claims it will have the test results back for you within 24 hours, you will actually have the test results in:

a) 24 hours
b) 3 days
c) 9 days
d) sometime shortly before the heat death of the universe

It doesn't help that my finger suddenly started hurting again, either.

Update: the answer turned out to be C. Well..... it is progress. It is the sort of progress that makes me look forward to the rum punch this weekend, but it is progress.

Oh, you've got to be kidding.

Maybe they sent the results to your doctor, who hasn't had the time to get back to you? Or maybe the really *are* vampires, and have set up this clever business thing as a cover and a money-maker.

After I waited two weeks to find out that my sample had thawed, I determined to be more proactive; I called the doctor's office on Friday, and then on Tuesday, and then they called me back this morning to say that the result was "pending."
