3/10/08 20:28 (UTC)I can see where the folks around Pratt could see some sketchiness, because there'a a large housing project right near Pratt, but I'm looking a little bit south of that area (near the 3 train, maybe the C, maybe south of that towards Prospect/Lefferts Gardens) and it doesn't seem sketch. It's pure Brooklyn in the sense that there's a lot of hair braiding places, storefront churches, and liquor stores, but it seems lively in a way that my area of Bushwick doesn't, and there's even a hipster tea shop under construction.
And I was looking in the not-so-great area of Prospect Heights, bordering on Crown Heights; I did look around Crown Heights enough to know that I don't really want to live in CH proper...
