This means that I have at last finished sewing up my lost words into the middle of the novel. I've also, it seems, lost about two thousand words in the process, which doesn't surprise me; it's like when you take electronics apart and when you put them back together you realize that somehow you have three extra screws left over. Sometimes that's not a problem and sometimes it is.

I think that I had better do one complete read-through for consistency before I continue with revisions; and the timing works out because I can do that while I'm traveling. And after that? There's every chance I can finish this by the middle of October if I keep on at a good pace.

Whew.

When my hard drive crashed and I said I could still maybe meet my deadline, I was totally lying. :)
