After two weeks, I have hot water in my apartment! CELEBRATE.

There is some good in all this. Yesterday my desire to shower in cool water went from zero into negative numbers and I decided to try and put some vinegar on my hair and be done with it.

I did not account for the fact that now my hair smelled like vinegar, so I ended up having to shower anyway.

So I went into work, and two different coworkers said to me, "You look good, what happened?"

Okay then, I'm going to maybe try this vinegar thing?

I did the no-shampooing thing for months and months and it just. did. not. work. for me. But occasional vinegar rinses (I use apple cider vinegar) do make my hair very soft, shiny, and bouncy. I have light colored hair so I also brew up a very strong chamomile tea with honey, add in a bunch of lemon juice (from a jar) and use that as a rinse as well.

Ahh, cold water flats. How Japanese. Except in Japan there are sento.

Vinegar in the hair? Sounds interesting.

A lot of crunchy-type people advocate baking soda and vinegar instead of shampoo and conditioner, especially for my kind of frizzy-wavy intractable hair. And it is, actually, rather more shiny-curly and less frizzy-wavy.
