Bike ride 9/2

owlectomyRoute: North on Carpenter Pond up to Boyce Mill. I thought that would be the quickest route up to Falls Lake, but the road turned into gravel and I was set upon by four large barky unleashed dogs, so I turned back. 9 miles in all.
Wildlife: Wild turkeys! Horses, though they're not actually wild; and I collided head-on with a swallowtail butterfly.
Etc.: My derailleurs are not working awfully well right now. Trying to adjust them on my own, since I can't quite afford a tune-up at the moment.
