The thing about moving is that you have to figure out which parts of yourself are past-and-gone, and which parts still have a chance of getting brought out again and go in the attic.

I packed about seven or eight boxes of books yesterday; fiction I've read, school books, and anything I don't see an urgent need to refer to again is going in the attic. The number of books I can actually bring myself to sell is rather small, because I haven't bought many books recently, and I won't sell any of my Japanese books no matter how little-used they are.

I can't keep all that many of my books in the house; my mother doesn't want bookcases from Target in her house, and the kind that look nice are too expensive. Hey, at least it's not cinder blocks and boards...
