An incident from collection development

The Professor: So, for scholarly publishing, you have to be in the club to know these rules--what you need to cite to get published in this specific journal, that kind of thing. If you're outside the club, no one tells you these things. It's like that movie--what's the movie I'm thinking of?

Me: Fight club?

Professor, befuddled: Fight club?

Me: Because you're not allowed to talk about it, so...

Professor: The first rule of scholarly publishing is, you don't talk about scholarly publishing.

(He was talking about Good Will Hunting. It was a little embarrassing, but it got a laugh.)
