I got hired! No painful waiting period. I walked in, I did the interview, I got hired.

I will be helping people scan things. When no one needs help scanning things, I will, presumably, be free to write novels, read novels, and surf the internet idly. (Conversely, I am not allowed to use my iPod, which is just as well, as I suspect the battery's about to give out).

This is good. A teeny raise over what I was making, but good. And I will be that much happier with the current job knowing that I will have only three weeks left.
