My boyfriend has a kitten, a tiny little thing who thinks everything in the world is a toy. Feet, hands, specks of dust. A few days ago he had a severe reaction to flea drops. He could have died; as it is they just dropped a bunch of money in vet bills on him.

The flea drops were made by Hartz. And this is a very common reaction. They have a class action lawsuit going against them; over 960 cats have died or had severe nerve damage because of Hartz flea drops. This has been going on for a long time, yet their products are still on the market. There are much more safe and effective flea chemicals, ones that don't use chemicals that are basically sarin, but they keep on using the dangerous stuff.

Don't buy Hartz flea products, whatever you do, and boycott all their products if you can. It makes me outraged to know how many pets they're killing, and getting away with it.

More info at Hartzvictims.org and Boycott Hartz.

thanks for the warning

Even though Sara's kitties are indoor cats and don't get flea drops, I'm going to tell her about this. It's outrageous. Is there any way to find out about companies that own/are owned by Hartz? A petition's not enough to stop the terrible things that this company's doing to cats. (I'd search myself, but I'm at work and shouldn't even be online)
