Well, I was sort of right about being able to read Mishima. I'm attempting Kinkakuji (Temple of the Golden Pavillion) again. Some books I can manage all right without extensive dictionary lookup; not this one. Pre-war kanji! Weird vocabulary! I'm doing a couple paragraphs a day, looking up every new word. And... it's actually kind of interesting. Books can rarely hold my interest if I can't get through an big enough chunk to be interesting every day, and I'm not sure this one will hold my interest very long, since it's literary and weird in addition to being difficult. But I do need to study, if I'm every going to get better at this.
