This weekend: Peach and Creme Fraiche Pie. My kitchen was up to 85-90 degrees this weekend, so probably I should not have attempted pie, but frankly, the only reason to tolerate the summer is everything that goes in a pie: peaches and strawberries and rhubarb and cherries and blueberries and blackberries. The crust was a bit overworked, but the peaches were great. Eh, it was my first pie, I'm proud of myself for getting something relatively structurally sound.

Yesterday: Dilled Potato and Pickled Cucumber Salad. I do not like pickles, but I do like the overnight refrigerator pickles that you make for this recipe! I made this for a work party and was getting a LOT of compliments on it, which is always nice.

Luckily, I even managed to use my mandoline without hacking off a chunk of my thumb.
