30/1/13 23:22Tor.com is giving away [U.S. only] several copies of a new book of Yoko Ogawa short stories. Yay, a new book of Yoko Ogawa short stories!
I want more people to read Yoko Ogawa because I want to have conversations about her works! They might just come down to "Whoa, that was dark." "Yeah, that was pretty dark." "So what just happened?" "I dunno, what do you think?" but that is all right.
I am EXTREMELY amused that the same author wrote "Pregnancy Diary," which is dark and surreal and body-horror-ish, and "The Professor's Beloved Equation," which is kind of a fuzzy story with a lot of math in it, and would be horribly Hallmarky in the hands of another writer.
