New discovery of the day

A picture book biography of Gertrude Stein. As Booklist noted, "The call for an impressionistic picture-book biography of Gertrude Stein may be limited." It is a lovely little book! But old enough to be interested in Gertrude Stein (who certainly went over my head when I had to do a report on her in eighth grade; my group mostly giggled about marijuana brownies) is maybe old enough to want a little more concrete information.

I do like the part that's all, "Hey! A painting doesn't have to look like a waterfall if it doesn't want to! It can do anything it wants!"
