That new Kindle

The new Kindle supports Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean fonts.

MY EYES HAVE GONE ALL SPARKLY.

Now it just remains to be seen whether the Japanese publishers will get on the bandwagon and whether books are going to be region-locked if they do.

Get on it, people. This is the future I have been waiting for! That and really fast trains, but on the other hand if I get really fast trains where will I find time to read my ebooks?

My patience has worn thin.

Initially I was pretty amused by Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, at least in concept (having not actually read the book)-- it felt like a repudiation of the divide between Girl Books and Books With Explosions and Grievous Bodily Harm -- but the longer it goes on the more it looks like "Girl books about feelings are boring unless you put (zombies/werewolves/vampires) in them."

Everyone knows that Girl Books About Feelings are boring unless you put ninjas in them.
