I have my timeline figured out for a 65,000-word book. It's a good timeline. It would let me finish this draft and another complete one by the end of December.
But if I keep on averaging 1900 words per scene, it's going to get to 95,000 words. And if I don't, it's going to end up feeling top-heavy. 95,000 is long for YA, but it's not as long as most of the Harry Potter books, so it's by no means out of the question for YA fantasy. The bigger problem is how to make 30 extra days materialize from thin air.
I'm almost done copy-edits. I might try to step up the writing after that -- I can write mornings and evenings, but I think I might burn myself out trying to get over 1200 words a day.
