Oh Stephenie Meyer no...
7/6/08 19:26Yes, I sneaked a look at the Breaking Dawn preview inside the new "special edition!" of Eclipse - which is wrapped in plastic to prevent people from reading the preview without buying the book, but I did find one that wasn't shrink-wrapped.
That is a bad, bad thing to do to a devoted fanbase, especially a devoted teenage fanbase. Hardcovers are expensive enough without having to buy a book twice over, and Breaking Dawn may be coming out in August but since when are fangirls known for delayed gratification?
Anyway. The book opens with Bella
(a) engaged to be married in just a few days
(b) driving a Mercedes
(c) accepted into an unnamed Ivy League university, which - um - well, I guess not everyone who gets into an Ivy League school is very smart. But would a vampire Significant Other account for George Bush?
Stephenie Meyer, the more you do things like this, the more I'm going to get my hopes up that you're secretly planning something subversive. Don't do this to me!
It is both too hot to leave the apartment to find ice cream, and too hot not to. Probably laziness will win out.
ETA: I managed to buy the wrong ink cartridge for my printer! But there's no way I'm going out again.
