On this day in 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white man. What have you done that is brave?

This is Livejournal's writers block thingy today. Are they serious? They are asking you to compare yourself to Rosa Parks? And, okay, they're not going to go into a whole essay there on what actually happened, but everybody should read the book Freedom Walkers by Russell Freedman. The brave part isn't the individual action, though it was brave. The brave part was the work that the entire community did by boycotting the bus system for almost a whole year, organizing carpools and private buses to get people where they needed to go, taxi drivers lowering their fines even though it was illegal, etc.

ANYWAY.

I am in New York! I had my interview yesterday. I was quite happy about how it went, though I still have a couple reservations. We'll see. Then we went to Barcade! I am not very good at drinking, and not very good at playing arcade games, but I did a little of both and had fun doing so. We are going to eat our way through New York today.
