17/9/06 12:39Yesterday I went down to the brand-new West Regional Library in Cary; very swanky, and all their books are brand new. More new books into circulation is definitely a good thing--and I was able to grab three untouched volumes of Bleach for myself. I just about fainted when I saw their graphic novel collection; I'm just beginning to adjust to Wake County libraries having things like Angel Sanctuary and Gravitation.
And? They had not one, but two displays for Talk Like a Pirate Day. I put one up in my own library, though we don't actually have any real display space and it looks kind of ghetto by comparison. We're set to start renovating the library sometime in December... in the meantime I'll most likely be working in Garner, which is a longer commute than the one I have now, but it would give me some needed training.
I'm glad I learned my way around Cary even a little bit; I am doing a manga program for the library, and will need to pick up some Japanese snacks...
