...Because, as everyone knows, "The American Library Association is out to sexualize our children." (Sally Kern, Oklahoma legislature.) Not that I'm out to sexualize our children, or anything, but I'm not exactly helping my team by giggling over the hawt manga.
Here's the full story: Oklahoma libraries that get state funding (which is all of the public libraries, basically) were going to be required to segregate books with "homosexual" and "sexually explicit" content from the children's and YA section. But, fortunately, it looks like the bill isn't going on to the Senate...

Still, this is some scary stuff for someone working in North Carolina.
My new library does have the one set of children's books that set off my "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" reaction: Left Behind: The Kids. Bad theology is one thing, but it should at least wait until you're old enough to have a working BS detector. Still, one has to be professional about these things.
