23/5/05 16:45On my bike ride up to Calvander today (Go me!*) I came within maybe three feet of a bunny rabbit. Just sitting there in the grass, looking a little petrified as the cars and bicycle whizzed past. And there was the spectacle of two young men getting on the bus looking in disbelief when told that the buses were free; they were $2 one way where they were from. It is nice to live here, even if all the Chinese food is terrible and I could see Doctor Who on TV if I were in Canada.
*Tiny little crossroads-and-gas-station town. 4.6 miles round trip, an utterly trivial distance, but up until now I haven't trusted myself to get away from civilization and back without incident. Considering that I was darn lucky to break my elbow less than 1/4 miles from home, and I still had to take a bus to the hospital. (Quoth my sister, "That's ghetto.")
