You know how, when you're writing, you think about where your characters are going to end up five or ten years down the road? Okay, maybe that's just me, but... it just hit me that my human characters are about three years away from a huge stock market crash. They're all going to be really, really poor. So much for happy endings, eh? Maybe my readers won't think about it, just like I haven't thought of it at all until this point.
