Some happiness

owlectomy+ I bought curtains! Because I have an ACTUAL WINDOW. Yay. (Next needful thing: air conditioner. Oof.) They are blue and brown stripes. I know blue and brown are kind of a cliche for bedrooms. I'm thinking lavender and tangerine for my main colors, if I ever scrape enough money together to redo my decor (like replacing the absolutely ancient comforter on my bed.)
+ The city budget is on track to be released tomorrow, but I'm hearing preliminary reports that it's going to be $50-60 million better than initially anticipated because of the upturn in the economy. Even if that's true, the money may go into things other than the libraries, of course, but... any reason to hope.
+ We are submitting vacation requests for the next July - July period. I managed to get time off for the wedding I'm a bridesmaid at, Wiscon, and -- for the first time in three years! -- Thanksgiving. I even got the Wednesday off and hopefully I can get a real early-morning flight and get home early enough to do some cooking.
+ One of the Big People at the library found my Kirkus review and sent it around in email to everybody.
