I totally forgot that my Girl Shoes have a heel on them. And I would really like to avoid having my supposed-to-be-floor-length dress look TOO short, so that will not work.

QUEST: to find a black flat shoe in my size that does not look ugly and/or orthopedic. I don't think I can get away with anything "unisex" -- not if it's going with a bright red satin dress.

I just got a pair of these ballerina flats from Target, and they are cost-effective & quite comfy. I linked to the black patent ones, but there's a more matte black if you prefer that.

Alas, they don't go up to my size (I forgot to mention I'm slightly on the large side of a 12, which is the real problem.)
