So it begins.

The consensus seems to be that now's the time to start applying for jobs, and this one is way up high on the WANT want want list: children's librarian in Queens. I'm eminently qualified. Basically, they want someone who's really multicultural, has experience working with kids, and who knows kidlit and pop culture. They want me. AND they provide relocation assistance, which rocks, though for that job I'd practically sell all my earthly possessions and drag myself up there on Amtrak.

So...the job search process begins. Fingers crossed.

Marshall has a good friend who works in the Queens ( I believe- it's somewhere in NYC) library system. Let me know if you want a good word put in for you- I'll try to get you on the inside track.

A good word would be very nice. *g*

Though I must say that networking mystifies me, and I am puzzled as to how "My friend hung out with her for an hour or two and she didn't seem mentally unstable" counts for very much. Still, my management prof said that most jobs were found through the people you know.

On second thought, remembering that those hours were spent trying on costumes and gluing things to other things, I'm rather grateful if 'didn't seem mentally unstable' applies...

Emily: Please email me ASAP all the information you have about the job. I'm emailing you too, but if you're like me you check your LJ more than your email ^_^
