I have achieved couch!
...Sadly, when they delivered it, the shelving unit they delivered at the same time had clearly seen one too many whacks on the ground. So I called Ikea and they were very pleasant and said I could just bring the one damaged piece back and they would exchange it.
This was true, as far as it went.
What they didn't tell me was that I would be waiting for an hour and a half, sitting on a concrete floor reading about the Khmer Rouge. (The Khmer Rouge part is not their fault, I'll admit.)
OH MAN IKEA. I HAVE JUST ABOUT LOST MY FAITH IN YOU.
