Daily miscellany
I spent the non-library part of my weekend playing Rock Band at my sister's place; yes, the band is called Deathbunny, and I am its Pete Best. My skills are actually improving--slowly--but it's hard when my sister has the game at her place and I do not.
Then today was my day off to make up for Saturday. I decided to solve the problem of having too many unread books, as always, by buying more books. That trick never works. But I did snag (for a dollar!) a book of J-pop criticism from 1999, so it has essays on everyone I was into during those heady college years, and everyone I heard way too many times on the radio at McDonald's. (I haven't read the Shiina Ringo chapter yet, but if I'm reading the title correctly it translates as 'comfort music for nymphomaniacs.' What that says about me, I couldn't possibly guess.)
It really bothers me when people assume You Must Be Responsible For Your Own Destiny, and there's absolutely no systemic forces at work in the world. It also bothers me to get unsolicited advice. It also bothers me when men tell me to cheer up. Today I got into an argument online where someone hit the trifecta, and after I was already sunburned and tired from doing laundry.
I think I'm getting better at expressing anger. ;)
