The cons of going to cons

-The hotel is full, and I'm not sure I'm up to figuring out public transportation in an unfamiliar city.

What? Like heck I'm not. I got off at the airport in Tokyo, got out my map, and made my way down to my Shinjuku hotel without getting lost. Then I went to the BL store and the English bookstore without getting lost. Much. Of course I am up to figuring out public transportation in an unfamiliar city.

-Well, I wouldn't get the whole con-hotel-experience.

And the advantage to sleeping in the same place where the programming is held is what, exactly? I was out in the Toronto suburbs at TorCon, and it didn't detract from the experience except when my relatives were all "Hey, look at our vacation pictures!" and I really just wanted to go to the con. Besides, I am totally fearless about walking around cities at night.

-Hotels are more expensive than I remembered.

Well, I could just go for a day or two. AND I have a tax refund. And I could maybe find a roommate.

-The writing workshop deadline passed.

So? I don't have anything to workshop.

-I want a new bike.

I have a bike.

Aaaaall righty then. I am going to get my plane tickets whee.

ETA: Got it! And just as I remembered that I haven't flown since all the stupid flight regulations went into effect. Siiiiiigh.
