Our summer reading list includes such potentially controversial books as An Inconvenient Truth, Looking For Alaska (which is either porn or an edgy and heartbreaking book whose racy scenes are way too realistically awkward to be sexy), Sold (problem novel about sexual slavery in Asia), and Luna (about a transgender teen). Less controversial books that are just plain good, too: The Plain Janes, Generation T, Chew On This, Story of a Girl.

I'm excited about that. I mean, what's the point of being a librarian if you can't Corrupt Our Youth?

It is cold and raining and [female TMI] and my train was delayed and I had to spend half an hour handwashing things in the sink so I thought maybe some hot chocolate would help.

My hot chocolate exploded in the microwave.

I'm almost to the point of finding this funny. But I'm not there yet.
